The 8th Deloitte MMF Synergy Challenge on October 28 challenged Master of Management in Finance (MMF) students at Desautels on their strategic and financial acumen in the context of a merger case competition. As an integral part of our course on Mergers & Acquisitions with Associate Professor David Schumacher and made possible thanks to the support of Gérald Faustino (Partner and Desautels Global Expert), and Sean McLelland from Deloitte’s Deal Transformation and Post Merger Integration Practice (DTPMI), students engaged in a full-day experiential learning exercise that put not only their financial skills to the test but also their ability to collaborate as a team under pressure.

A team of three standout students emerged victorious in the competition – not only because they succeeded in resolving a tricky merger synergy case but also because they convincingly delivered their case solution to an expert panel and the class. The winning team comprised Huixuan Huang, Florence Lalonde and Kush Patel, making the event was a resounding success.

The ºÚÁÏÍø Desautels MMF program continues to nurture bright financial minds, providing them with real-world challenges and experiences that prepare them for the dynamic world of finance. Congratulations to this year's winning team for their outstanding achievement!
