The year 2025 marks a decade since the publication of the Final Report of the Truth and
Reconciliation Commission of Canada. In June 2015, the Canadian Psychological Association
(CPA) held its annual convention in Ottawa, just steps from the official TRC closing event at
Rideau Hall. The CPA formally addressed this call to action in a 2018 report. This presentation
revisits some of the initial challenges encountered in responding to that call, reviews the process
and outcomes of the CPA鈥檚 report, reflects on where psychology currently stands on the path
toward reconciliation, and considers the future of psychology in Canada in its relationship with
Indigenous Peoples.
