In particular\, they were connected to mirror symmetry in influential work of Feng–He–Kennaway– Vafa\, building on earlier connections to algebraic geometry by Kenyon–Oko unkov–Sheffield. In this talk we introduce a new class of objects\, tropic al Lagrangian coamoebae\, which explain how certain features of dimer mode ls — namely\, their mirror relation to line bundles on curves in an algebr aic 2-torus — generalize to arbitrary coherent sheaves on algebraic tori o f any dimension. As the name suggests\, their theory can also be understoo d from a symplectic point of view as being dual to the theory of tropical varieties.
