Overview

History : A comparative analysis of the major states of Western Europe: Absolutism and its alternatives; religious and scientific thought; classical and enlightenment cultures; international and colonial rivalries. Special attention will be placed on social and economic changes between the 1630s and the late 18th century.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2009-2010 academic year.
