Morgan Sleeth, Myl猫ne Riva, Kevin Manaugh and S茅bastien Breau recently published their article "鈥楲eft Behind Places鈥: Examining the Evolution of a Concept With an Application to the Canadian Regional Development Context" in Growth and Change. This paper employs Statistics Canada's 2021 Canadian Index of Multiple Deprivation (CIMD) dataset as a proxy for identifying LBPs across the country and examines their spatial dynamics at the census subdivision (CSD) level.

Mr. Kingson Campbell just successfully completed his summer Geography Undergraduate Research Award (GURA) under the supervision of Dr. Mallik Mahmud. As part of the GURA, he focused on remote sensing of Arctic snow and sea ice: specifically analyzing satellite data across multiple years from a geographical perspective to identify patterns and correlations. Kingson鈥檚 research aimed to discern the optimal Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) frequency for sea ice by investigating radar signatures derived from multi-frequency SAR imagery over the Beaufort Sea in the Arctic.
