GENDER TRAVELS! JOIN THE JOURNEY!

The Youth United Will Never Be DefeatedÌýexhibitionÌýwas createdÌýand curated by young people in Canada, Malawi, Mali, Mexico, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania & South Africa, who are all engaged in arts-based work for social change as part of the TRANSFORMÌý project.Ìý These young people created Photovoice artwork in response to the promptÌý"Gender in my community. Challenges & Solutions."

Now that theÌýYouth United Will Never Be DefeatedÌýexhibition is travelling and being exhibited at different sites around the world, we are inviting reflection and responses from the different audiences that come into contact with it.

We now ask YOU;Ìý

"What does gender look like in your classrooms, on your campuses and in your communities?"

Submit your photovoice (photo+caption) in response to the prompt above. You can highlight challenges, successes, hopes for the future... whatever resonates with you and that you'd like to share. You can choose to identify yourself or remain anonymous.Ìý

These photovoice submissions will become part of a new exhibition, that evolves as the exhibition travels.Ìý

Consent matters! Before taking or sharing any photos, make sure the people in them have agreed to be photographed. It’s always best to ask first. To help protect privacy—especially for children and youth—we recommend using images that don’t show faces whenever possible.

The pictures may be posted on the website.Ìý

Youth United Will Never Be Defeated

This exhibition brings together photographs created by young people from Canada, Malawi, Mali, Mexico, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and Tanzania, offering a powerful exploration of gender issues that matter to them. Through these images and captions, youth share stories of struggle, resilience, and hope, revealing both the specific challenges of their communities and the similarities that unite them across borders. By working collectively as agents of change, they use photovoice to spark dialogue, amplify their voices, and hold leaders accountable, while also inviting viewers to reflect, act, and contribute to shifting harmful societal norms.Ìý
