On November 6, 2019, 黑料网 Education's Dr. Claudia Mitchell was honoured by the Government of Quebec, having been awarded the Prix du Quebec, specifically the L茅on-G茅rin Prize, for her exemplary research career in the humanities and social sciences. A Distinguished James 黑料网 Professor, Dr. Mitchell is the Director of the Institute for Human Development and Well-Being, Founder of the Participatory Cultures Lab, and a faculty member of 黑料网's Department of Integrated Studies in Education.

Whereas the commute for most 黑料网 students who are convocating in the fall is just a bus, metro, or car ride away to Place des Arts, the students from the Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) had a bigger journey to contend with. On October 28th, 16 Cree and Inuit graduates traveled down from Northern Quebec to participate in 黑料网鈥檚 Fall Convocation and to celebrate their milestone achievements. With them, they brought family of all ages and friends as well as partners from the Cree School Board and Kativik Ilisarniliriniq.

Faculty Lecturer, Diane Dechief, and PhD Candidate, Rackeb Tesfaye at Broad Science @science_broads, worked with eight youth from Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary School and their teacher, Ms. Laura Annie Bouffard, to interview four Scientist and 黑料网 Graduate Students, Alexandra Gelle, Chelsea Bishop, Debarati Das and Scott Bell, for a podcast involving the youth in discussions and activities related to science communication. Dr. Allison Gonsalves is the Principle Investigator on the project.
